Brunswick Heads Accommodation

Brunswick Heads is a pretty, peaceful and unspoilt coastal village that sits at the mouth of the Brunswick River, just 15 minutes north of Byron Bay.

Brunswick Heads embodies the quintessential seaside village - a small but vibrant coastal community that rests alongside the stunning Brunswick River, which flows through Brunswick Heads to the Hinterland town of Mullumbimby. Promising both the river and the ocean as well as the tropical Hinterland rainforest, Brunswick Heads has retained the sleepy seaside village feel, while growing its commercial arm. The town promises a range of dining and entertainment options, a selection of diverse festivals and excellent boutique and speciality shopping.

Historically, Brunswick Heads was a busy Northern NSW port and has a background in shipping and boat building. From the turn of the century, this pretty seaside town built a reputation as an excellent family holiday destination and continues that tradition today.

NATURAL ENVIRONMENT
Enchanting, picturesque and unspoilt, Brunswick Heads sits around the mouth of the Brunswick River, framed by protected rainforest and the stunning Hinterland backdrop of Mt Warning and Mt Chincogan. In addition to the gorgeous river, the Brunswick coast promises the best of both worlds, with a surf break nestled within the breakwalls of the river and spanning all the way to Byron Bay, as well as a safe, quiet beach at the rivermouth. The riverside connects to the beaches via traditional timber bridges.

The 221 hectare Brunswick Heads Nature Reserve sits between Brunswick Heads and Ocean Shores and boasts stunning, endangered littoral rainforest, as well as over 40 threatened animal species. A significant site for Indigenous Australians, the Brunswick Heads Nature Reserves sits within the land of the Bundjalung people and still provides a ready source of food.
