Situated at the foot of Mount Chincogan, and on the banks of the Brunswick River, Mullumbimby is a hub of counter-culture a short 20 minute drive north of Byron Bay. “Mullum”, as it is affectionately known, lives up to its billing as ‘The Biggest Little Town in Australia’. The town - a hybrid blend of bustling Byron Bay and chilled Nimbin - mixes vibrant shops, boutiques, bars, and eateries with sleepy streets and serene hinterland, owing to a take-it-easy lifestyle.
Mullumbimby has everything on its doorstep, with beachside favourites Byron Bay (20km) and Brunswick Heads (10km), and a host of jaw-dropping national parks, mountains and rainforests, all a short drive away. Local and interstate visitors can easily reach Mullumbimby with two airports - Ballina Byron Gateway (41km) and Gold Coast (54km) - located less than 45 minutes from town.
